A Q&A with the Symposium Host

I had the opportunity to discuss this event with Christina to learn more about why this event is needed and the reason behind the timing! Check out our dialogue below.

CannaLance: Who is hosting the event?

Christina DiArcangelo: Affinity Bio Partners is hosting the event on behalf of Affinity Patient Advocacy.  The event will be held the day before Christina DiArcangelo’s father, Albert J. DiArcangelo, Sr.’s death anniversary.  Affinity Patient Advocacy will receive 15% of all funds received as a result of the event.  Affinity Patient Advocacy is a non-profit that provides advocacy support at no cost to patients.

CannaLance: What is the event called and what is it all about?

Christina DiArcangelo: “Rising from the Ashes: Collaborations within the Medical Cannabis and CBD Industries” will be held in King of Prussia, PA at the Sheraton Valley Forge, 480 N Gulph Rd, King of Prussia, PA 19406 on October 12, 2019 from 7:30 am to 3:15 pm.   It is imperative to ensure that there is consistent education throughout the Medical Cannabis and CBD industries as well as to support all patients and professionals. We chose “Rising from the Ashes” and the Phoenix because Christina and her father are natives from Phoenixville, PA.  More specifically, Christina’s father was the President of the Steelworker’s Union and was a steelworker at Phoenix Steel for over two decades prior to joining the PA Turnpike Commission and joining the Teamsters.  This event is also to remember and support the reason why Affinity Patient Advocacy is in existence due to Christina being her father’s advocate when he was dying from stomach, liver and lung cancers in 2015.

CannaLance: Why is this event needed?

Christina DiArcangelo: We are seeing that the Medical Cannabis and CBD industry is starting to raise the bar as it relates to professionalism and patient care.  However, we have noticed that there is not enough collaboration within the industries.  When you attend this event you will see competitors, east, west coast and international speakers coming together.  We can do better and show everyone that we can be collaborative. At the end of the day, we must all come together to help patients with unmet medical needs.

CannaLance: What can attendees gain by attending?

Christina DiArcangelo: Access to leaders in both the Medical Cannabis and CBD industries that you would have not had prior and LEARNING.  We want to make sure that each person learns something new!

CannaLance: How does this loop in with the work you are doing with Affinity? With CannaBot?

Christina DiArcangelo: All three companies support patients whether it is with artificial intelligence technology through the CannaBot, clinical studies through Affinity Bio Partners or patient advocacy services through Affinity Patient Advocacy; patients come first, and they deserve to have the best optimal care provided to them.  We are here to ensure that happens.

CannaLance: Why is this event important to you?

Christina DiArcangelo: I have selected each panel speaker and moderator for this event.  We wanted to ensure that this event clearly demonstrates transparency and much needed collaborations in the industries.  If we want to ensure that patients have education available to them and want to provide support to the industry by demonstrating excellence.  Lastly, it is important to celebrate my father’s life and legacy to the fullest.  I live every day of my life to support his legacy and want to ensure that I help patients.

CannaLance: How does this event help you succeed in your overall mission?

Christina DiArcangelo: I had to learn to live my life without my father and have learned that it talks collaborations, strong partnerships and helping patients to help me move forward in a positive and healthy manner.  I have a different life than I did prior my father’s death, but I have embraced my new life.  There are so many patients that we have helped since 2015 and are looking forward to many more patients coming our way through Affinity Patient Advocacy!
