California Launches Cannabis Information Site for the Public

Cannabis has been legal in the state of California for medicinal purposes since 1995. Last year voters in the state approved the Adult Use of Marijuana Act also known as Proposition 64. This proposition also legalized recreational cannabis making it immediately legal for adults over the age of 21 in the state to possess up to an ounce of cannabis without the fear of persecution or arrest. Despite the fact that legal cannabis has been part of the culture in California for over two decades the state just launched its website in regards to cannabis and the potential risk that it presents this month.

The state website launched by the Department of Public Health is titled Let’s Talk Cannabis. This is part of the department’s public education campaign to educate Californians about cannabis as it is becoming more widely available and utilized by citizens. The website is mainly focused on educating the public about the potential risks that cannabis could have and is geared towards youth and their parents. This website also contains general information such as what’s actually legal for adults in regards to cannabis in the state as well as an FAQ section which answers some of the most common questions Californians may have in regards to cannabis.

As stated in an article by usnews.com we will have to agree with Anna Denny who feels that most of this information has been around for years however the new government website may be a great resource for someone who say is in their elderly years and perhaps getting their cannabis information from their grandchildren. For those rooted in the cannabis culture and community, however, the knowledge contained on this website has been part of our lexicon for years.

Are you a Californian? Do you have questions regarding cannabis? If so we would love to hear your feedback on how well this newly developed government website was able to address those questions. If you are unable to find the answers that you are after please let us know and we will try our best to point you in the right direction.
