TN Nurses Have a Chance to Learn About Medical Cannabis

This October nurses in the state of Tennessee will have a chance to learn about a topic they have never been able to professionally attend a class on before. Thanks to the Patients Out of Time organization and Mary Lynn Mathre who is an RN, MSN, and CARN as well as a medical cannabis and addictions nurse consultant nurses in the state of Tennessee will finally be able to professionally learn about cannabis and its medical applications. On Saturday, October 14th from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Nashville Bar Association nurses can attend the Endocannabinoid System and Medical Cannabis class hosted by Mary Mathre.

Registration for the class costs $119 and nurses who are interested can pre-register here. The class will gain nurses 6 contact hours via Patients Out of Time who is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing. This class will cover the major components of the indigenous endocannabinoid system as well as how cannabis helps the human body to create a state of homeostasis. Attendees will also learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, how cannabis could help fight the opiate epidemic, state and federal laws as well as much more surrounding this miraculously medically beneficial plant.

With over half of the states in the United States recognizing cannabis as a medically beneficial plant, it’s essential that nurses who are on the front line of our Healthcare System are educated to the truth surrounding cannabis. It’s only a matter of time before medical cannabis will be legal in every state across the United States as well as more countries around the world. Through educational classes such as this, we can ensure that these medical professionals are knowledgeable about the many different medical applications and benefits of cannabis.

We are proud to see this program coming to the state of Tennessee seeing how TN has been drastically impacted by the opiate epidemic taking place across the United States. Tennessee was also listed as one of the next 10 states most likely to legalize medical cannabis in a recent report. Currently, in the state, there is a medical marijuana task force who is hosting three meetings across the state bringing together patients, political leaders, medical professionals, and others to examine the benefits of legalizing medical cannabis in the state. Now if only the TN government would volunteer to help bring legal medical cannabis to the residents of the state!
